I think this is the best Finger Lakes sauv blanc I've ever tasted

There isn’t a lot of sauvignon blanc being grown in the Finger Lakes. Historically, the wines made from what is in the ground have never stood out to me, either. As I write this, I can’t think of a great (or even good) example.
That’s okay. Not every grape is going to work in every region.
I only share that to provide a little context for a Finger Lakes-grown sauvignon blanc that is memorable and worth seeking out (even if it’s one of the more expensive New York examples).
Bravery Wines 2023 “2771 Series” Sauvignon Blanc ($39*) is made with grapes grown in the Martini Vineyard (the same Martinis that owns Anthony Road Wine Company) on the west side of Seneca Lake. It bursts with passionfruit, pineapple, and citrus fruit aromas with a subtle underlying note of nutty lees.
Ripe and juicy, the palate is very grapefruit-forward with layers of tropical fruit, more passionfruit, and some of that same gentle nuttiness that brings some flavor complexity. The acidity is fresh and juicy — like a squirt of lime and grapefruit juice — with a plump, rounded mouthfeel. It wears the 13.9% abv well and features a long, citrusy pithy finish.
