Hoard These East Coast Rosés for Thanksgiving
Summer's not over–but I'm already thinking about my holiday table with these Thanksgiving-ready rosés

I promise that I’m not rushing the end of summer—especially this year. Our son leaves for college for the first time at the end of the month, and I’m just trying to enjoy the last few weeks of having him “around” (in quotes because he’s rarely home between his workouts, his job, his friends, and his girlfriend).
But I digress—back to wine.
A lot of writers cover rosé this time of year, and I’m no different. But I like to zag a little when everyone else is zigging. Rosé is a 12-month endeavor in this house. We drink it no matter the weather or season, but my favorite single day to drink rosé is Thanksgiving. The right kinds of rosés—those with a bit more weight and a bit more flavor than the light summer sippers that are great right now—offer a freshness and depth of flavor that works really well with the diverse Thanksgiving dinner table.
I wouldn’t call these wines the “best” rosés I tasted this year (though many would be on that list too). Instead, these are the most deliciously flavorful examples that have the concentration and the stuffing (see what I did there?) to shine on your Thanksgiving table.
And—because some of these are fairly small productions, I’m suggesting you grab your bottles now before they sell out.
Airy Acres Vineyard 2024 Saperavi Rosé
There is a lightly earthy edge to a nose dominated by red cherry and cranberry fruitiness. That cran-cherry character carries over to a medium-to-fuller-bodied palate that has fresh, almost tart acidity. There is a subtle savory earthiness too, and it shows good concentration and length, with a squirt of lime on the finish.
