The Cork Report Tasting Table for May 23, 2025
With wines from Dr. Konstantin Frank, DuCard, Fjord, Fox Run, Heron Hill, Keuka Spring, King Family, Rosemont, Trestle Thirty One, and Weis
Happy Friday and welcome to a catch-up edition of the Tasting Table, where you’ll find some leftover cabernet franc notes as well as the first bigger batch of rosé ones.
As always, these are short, mostly unedited reviews of recently tasted wines — more or less straight from my notebook.
All wines were tasted over the course of 2-5 days.
Dr. Konstantin Frank 2024 Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir ($20*)
Finger Lakes AVA (New York)
Fruity-forward nose with strawberry and cherry limeade aromas backed by floral notes and some cinnamon candy. Really nice mouthfeel. Both silky and fresh feeling. Strawberry and red cherry fruitiness has juicy, citrusy acidity, spice, and earthiness beneath. Delicate but flavorful with a long, silky finish. 91pts.
Dr. Konstantin Frank 2024 Dry Rosé ($17*)
Finger Lakes AVA (New York)
Blend of saperavi, chardonnay, pinot noir, riesling, gruner veltliner, pinot meunier, and pinot blanc. Light nose with only a little strawberry, cherry, and lemon. Light body and a tiny bit dilute. Citrusy with peach and strawberry. Really nice acidity and feel with some floral notes that emerge as it warms. Crisp but not super flavorful. 86pts.
